The European Court of Human Rights condemns Turkey for lifting the immunity of 40 Kurdish MPs


In a judgment delivered on February 1, 2022, the European Court of Human Rights considers that the lifting of parliamentary immunity of 40 deputies of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) is contrary to the Turkish Constitution and violates freedom of expression guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights of which Turkey is a co-signatory.
